My "April" wall hanging is now in her new home, brightening up a white wall in the Resilience Wellbeing Clinic in Wimbledon.
She is named April, the month which can still hold on to winter but has all the promise of Summer. I found a poem (see below) which perfectly captures the move from Winter to Spring and my wall hanging with her bursts of colour peaking through the snow and the warmth of the green bringing in the new season.
Winter and Spring
But a little while ago
All the ground was white with snow;
Trees and shrubs were dry and bare,
Not a sign of life was there;
Now the buds and leaves are seen,
Now the fields are fresh and green,
Pretty birds are on the wing,
With a merry song they sing!
There's new life in everything!
How I love the pleasant spring!
